Do you Want to Empower Your Teams to Recognise and Prevent Stress by Harnessing the Power of the Nervous System?
I can help you equip your employees to take charge of their health proactively - before stress turns into a bigger issue.
If stress isn’t managed effectively, the consequences can be significant for both employees and employers. For employees, chronic stress doesn’t just affect health, it can have far-reaching emotional, lifestyle, and financial impacts. For employers, it can disrupt team dynamics, reduce productivity, and even affect your organisation’s reputation.
Stress prevention and management strategies aren’t new—they typically fall into two categories. The first focuses on workplace adjustments, like delegating tasks, taking breaks, and setting boundaries. The second includes relaxation techniques, such as meditation and mindfulness.
While these are undoubtedly valuable, my approach goes deeper. I offer a fresh, cutting-edge method that helps employees recognise the early signs of stress, understand the power of the nervous system, and develop practical techniques to regulate the nervous system, before burnout and chronic illnesses take hold.
As a respected business leader, you’re likely all too aware of the impact that stress has on health and productivity. But in case you’re in any doubt, a recent report by Mental Health UK Workplace and Training highlighted that 90% of employees experienced high or extreme stress in the past year, while 24% admitted they don’t feel confident managing it.
Stress is an inevitable part of life, but when left unmanaged, it can spiral into burnout or even chronic illnesses. This doesn’t just affect individuals, it impacts team morale, performance and, let's face it, your bottom line.
Here you have an opportunity to shine brightly with your employees by equipping them with the tools and knowledge they need to take control of their health whilst also injecting them with a new perspective of knowledge. Sound good ?
At a high level, the nervous system is comprised of the central nervous system and the autonomic nervous system and the latter is responsible for how we respond to stress. It determines whether we are in 'rest and digest' state or 'fight or flight'. It informs the brain whether we are in danger and whether to create symptoms such as a fast heart rate, clammy palms or slow and deep restful breathing.
If we are in fight or flight state for too long, our autonomic nervous system is also responsible for creating chronic symptoms associated with burnout such as fatigue, pain, headaches, insomnia, lack of motivation and reduced productivity. Chronic illnesses are also associated with an over-stressed nervous system and these include Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, PoTs, Long Covid and Chronic Anxiety. They affect millions of people in the UK alone, predominantly women. This offers a strong reason to address warning symptoms as soon as they appear.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, grab some time in my diary (calendar below) and let's have a chat to see how I can support your organisation. I offer workshops that cover the following types of topics, but they can be tailored to your needs:
What we mean by stress & burnout
How to recognise the signs of stress
What causes burnout and chronic illnesses
The role of the nervous system
Techniques to manage stress and regulate your nervous system
There are so many ways in which this can be valuable to your organisation. In addition to the warm glow you will feel knowing that you are empowering your valued employees to take control of their health an wellness, there are some hard benefits too.
If just one of your high-performing employees applies the insights and techniques from these sessions and avoids spiraling into burnout, that could save weeks or even months of lost productivity due to extended sick leave or you lose them completely if they resign.
If just one of your employees who frequently takes time off due to minor illnesses learns to regulate their nervous system and prevents those issues from escalating into burnout, that could mean significantly fewer absences and a healthier, more engaged workforce.
If just one employee currently on long-term sick leave due to burnout or chronic illness is able to regain their health and return to work at full productivity, that’s a direct reduction in absenteeism and a measurable boost to your company’s efficiency and revenue
I have been there.
I was in the corporate world for 20 years and for the most part I struggled with numerous chronic symptoms. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in 2008 which then evolved into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2017 and Long Covid in 2020 - all different representations of nervous system burnout.
By carefully managing my life, I was able to work effectively until I caught Covid and that is when I suffered from brain fog which made working more challenging.
I spent thousands on many different treatments and therapies with limited impact. It wasn’t until I had my lightbulb moment and realised that all my symptoms were connected to my autonomic nervous system that I was finally able to to start healing.
After learning how to heal myself, I felt compelled to help others who are facing similar health struggles.
